ACCOMMODATION OVERVIEW
The Auvergnat Barn is in the grounds of Lagarde which is situated down a quiet country lane near to the picturesque village of Junhac and about 4 kms from the medieval hill town of Montsalvy. The gîtes, known as Le Coin Perdu and La Belle Chataigne enjoy quiet seclusion and privacy and are not overlooked by any other buildings. The immediate surroundings are fields and woods where local farmers graze their cattle.
Alongside the Barn is an 11 m swimming pool shared by both gîtes and the owner. Please bring your own towels for poolside use. There is a choice of terraces on which to read and doze. From the poolside the views are of the idyllic countryside surrounding Lagarde. Beside the swimming pool is a large room equipped for table tennis and other games and children's swings with play area.
If you are a large family or group of friends, or simply want more space around you, then the answer is to reserve both Gîtes. A large table under one of the pergolas will easily accommodate everyone for a gathering at mealtimes. Communication between the two gîtes is along a gravel path connecting the two entrances.
The proprietors will personally supervise the cleaning and preparation of the gîte(s) for your arrival and you can expect to be greeted on arrival with fresh bread and wine. A property deposit of 200 euros on arrival is requested; this will be returned on departure less any charges that may be payable, e.g. for non-accidental breakages, excess cleaning, etc. The rates include electricity, heating, gas, bed-linen, hand and bath towels. Please bring your own towels for the pool side. Please note that pets are not allowed in either property.

LE COIN PERDU - GITE 1
For up to four persons (2 Bedrooms). The accommodation, which is all on one level, comprises: a living/dining room, kitchen area, two bedrooms, a laundry room and outside patio. Decoration is in the local style with massive oak beams.
Bedroom No. 1 has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, wash-basin and WC. The view from the window is of the fields and trees at the rear of the property. Bedroom No.2 is twin-bedded and the view is of the swimming pool and the fields and woods of the valley beyond. There is a second shower room with WC. A comfortable put-you-up bed is available to increase the sleeping capacity of the gite by an additional person.
The lounge/dining room is fully equipped and furnished with comfortable easy chairs and a traditional oak table seating six. The kitchen equipment includes a full size electric oven, with gas hob unit, refrigerator, dish washer, microwave oven, plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans and enough utensils and gadgets for some serious cooking. The laundry room contains a washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board. There are electric radiators in every room. WiFi is available throughout the property.
Wide French doors lead out from the living room onto a patio area under an oak pergola covered by a grapevine. There is a wooden table with four chairs. Other equipment includes a barbeque and sun loungers. This is a lovely private and peaceful spot ideal for eating and afternoon dozing. The views are stunning.
Parking is under a large, shady chestnut tree. Nearby, through a small gate, a path leads off into the woods.
LA BELLE CHATAIGNE - GITE 2
For up to four persons (2 Bedrooms). The accommodation, which is all on one level, comprises a living/dining room, two bedrooms, open plan kitchen and a patio with a large table and six chairs. Decoration is in the local style with massive oak beams.
Bedroom No.1 has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room with washbasin and WC. The views are of the swimming pool and the fields and woods of the valley beyond. Bedroom No. 2 has twin-beds. A comfortable put-you-up bed is available to increase the sleeping capacity of the gite by an additional person.
There is a second shower room with washbasin and WC.
The living/dining area has easy chairs, sofa and a traditional oak dining table with seating. The kitchen area is fully equipped with electric oven, gas hob unit, refrigerator, microwave oven, dish washer, iron and ironing board, washing machine and plenty of cutlery, crockery, glassware, saucepans and enough utensils and gadgets for full scale cooking. There are electric radiators in every room. WiFi is available throughout the property.
The entrance to the accommodation is from a private parking area, up a flight of steps, across a patio area and through double French doors. A wisteria is climbing an oak pergola and will soon provide extra shade for the sun loungers and barbecue. This is a lovely, restful spot to eat, read and doze. The views are of rolling farmland and woods towards ‘Le mur du diable’, an unusual rocky outcrop beside one of the many walking routes in the area.
